These are the questions I get asked most. If yours isn't here, message me on WhatsApp or by email and I'll answer you myself.
If it's your first time
Do I need to know anything about astrology?
Nothing at all. You don't need to know what a rising sign is or where your Saturn sits. My job is to tell you in language that makes sense.
In fact, most of my clients arrive knowing nothing beyond their sun sign and gradually come to understand more and more about their own birth chart.
What details do you need from me?
Three: the date, the time and the place of your birth.
The time matters most. Your rising sign and your houses depend on it, and those are half the reading.
I don't know my time of birth. Can I still book?
Look on your birth certificate first. In the Netherlands you can request it from the municipality where you were born.
If it doesn't turn up anywhere, send me a message before booking. Without a birth time there's still quite a lot to see, but it's less precise and that can affect the interpretation. I'd rather tell you that before you pay.
Which one should I choose if I've never had a reading?
Start with the first reading, which is free. You'll see your natal chart on screen straight away and receive a short interpretation by email.
Want to really get to the bottom of it afterwards? Then the full birth chart (€149) is the foundational reading: you do it once in your life and it stays with you for the rest of it.
What languages do you work in?

About sidereal astrology
What is a birth chart?
A birth chart is like a photograph of the sky at the exact moment you were born. That map shows where the planets, the Sun and the Moon were.
During the reading you'll get to know yourself in a new way: your character, your talents, your patterns and also the themes and experiences that may play a role in your life.
What is sidereal astrology?
It's the astrology that works with where the planets actually are today: what you'd see looking up now.
The better-known astrology is tropical, which uses coordinates fixed some three thousand years ago. The sky has drifted since then, and today the two no longer line up.
I check the sky almost daily with Stellarium, the app astronomers use, to be sure that what I'm interpreting is genuinely happening up there.
So my sign isn't the one I thought?
Quite possibly. Many people discover at their first consultation that the sun was actually in the previous sign at the moment they were born.
But don't worry: you haven't suddenly become someone else. The sign you've always read belongs to a different calculation method, and now you're looking at what was actually in the sky on the day you were born.
Does astrology predict the future?
Predictive astrology exists and has its uses, but it isn't what astrology is for.
What the consultation is like
How does the session work?
By video call, on Google Meet. You get a link and simply open it at the agreed time; there's nothing to install.
What can you expect during a session?
We'll go through your whole chart: who you are, where you come from and where you're heading. We'll also look at the period you're in and at what's coming.
If what you want is to focus properly on what's happening in your life right now, that's a different reading: the “Current Moment”.
At the end, you can ask as many questions as you like.
How long does it take?
As long as it needs. I don't run a stopwatch: I'd rather finish when all your questions are answered than when an alarm goes off.
As a guide, a full birth chart reading usually takes a little over two hours.
Can the birth chart reading also come by email?
If you'd rather have it that way, of course. I can write it up and send it to you by email, and it costs the same.
And the tarot — can that be a video call too?
No, I always do the tarot in writing.
It reaches you by email within 24 hours, so you can read it again in a few months, when you understand things that hadn't happened yet on the day of the reading. If you would rather talk to me live, have a look at the other readings: those are video calls.
Do you send a report after the consultation?
I don't send a written report of the reading afterwards. During the consultation, though, you're welcome to record the conversation.
Can I move or cancel the appointment?
Yes, as long as you let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Message me on WhatsApp or by email and we'll find another slot.
Does what I say in the session stay between us?
Yes, always. What we discuss in a consultation stays between us. And I never share your birth details or your chart with anyone.
Prices and guarantee
What if the reading doesn't convince me?
Then you get your money back. I offer this because I'd rather refund you than have you walk away feeling you wasted your money.
How does the guarantee work?
It's simple. What matters most to me is that the consult is meaningful and useful to you.
If you're not satisfied, I'll refund you. All you need to do is send your request in writing to maria@espirituale.com within ten (10) working days of your consultation.
As soon as I receive the request, I'll refund you straight away. Your satisfaction comes first.
How much does each reading cost?
The first short reading is free. The full birth chart costs €149, the Current Moment reading €85, relationship compatibility €165, tarot €35, a single specific question €35 and the monthly horoscope €29,99.
All prices include 21% VAT.
I don't know which reading to choose. Can you help?
Write to me and we will talk it through. I would rather recommend the reading you actually need, even if it is the cheapest one, or none at all, than sell you something that will not help you.
How do I pay?
You can book and pay right here on the site. If you'd prefer something else, I also accept Tikkie or a bank transfer.
Can I give a reading as a gift?
Yes, and it's one of the most appreciated gifts I offer.
Let me know which one you'd like to give and I'll get it ready. The person books afterwards, whenever suits them; they can give me their birth details directly, so you don't have to go digging for them.
I'd like the couples reading. Do we both need to be there?
I need the birth details of both people: date, time and place for each of you. Without that the relationship chart can't be calculated.
For the session, you can both be there or just whoever requested the reading, whichever you prefer.
